What makes a strong final-year project?

A strong project solves a defined problem, has users or stakeholders, demonstrates engineering decisions and can be evaluated. The title matters less than your ability to explain requirements, architecture, security, testing and limitations.

  • College service portal: requests, role-based approvals, notifications and audit history.
  • Learning analytics dashboard: progress data, risk indicators and responsible recommendations.
  • Local business inventory system: stock, orders, alerts and sales reporting.
  • Document knowledge assistant: permission-aware search, citations and evaluation of incorrect answers.
  • Accessibility checker: automated checks with a clear manual-review workflow.

Control the scope

Define a minimum viable version with three to five core workflows. Add advanced features only after the basic system is reliable. A tested, deployed application is more persuasive than an unfinished list of ambitious features.

Document your contribution
